Today I just found out that Empire, the second Sigmar novel in Black Library's Time of Legends series, has made it into the shortlisted top 5 of the David Gemmell Legend Award! Bizarrely, I found out when an Australian friend of mine e-mailed me from Timor to tell me (talk about a roundabout way for information to travel...). Here's the video from the DGLA website.

So if you're one of the erudite, fashionable, debonair and imaginative people who voted for it, thank you very much for your support. But remember that the votes don't carry through, so I'll be asking to vote again so we can beat those Johnny-come-latelys like Robert Jordan... And remember that Jon Sullivan, the handsome, talented fellow that did the cover for Empire is also nominated (twice!) in the Ravenheart Best Fantasy Cover Art category, so be sure to give him your vote too.

I was at Eastercon on Saturday, and I'll talk about that (as well as a subject that'll get a few folks simmering) in the next few days.

Congrats its about time black librarys best novels were aknowledged, nearly finished thosand sons and can say ive really enjoyed it like fulgrim i wasnt sure at first and now its easily one of my favourite heresy novels and you made me like the thosand sons which as a space wolves fan is unforgivable :)

Ahh Graham congrats mate, but thats not why im writing.I have just read The Last Church mate, what a fantastic story!.I saw the art work you put up on the weblog some months ago and realized i hadnt read the story, so i had to change that and found it in Tales of The Heresy, and for thoses that aint read it its well worth buying the book for that story alone.Very thought provoking and for an older ganer like me it clears up alot of questions relevant to what happens at the end of our own age, and raises some new ones.The whole one on one chat with the Priest in that environment was just brilliant, i cant big it up more mate.It was a ballsy subject to take on as well.Anyhow hope the Family is ok and im looking forward to God King!

Mr. McNeill.....you are a harsh, harsh man.

Just finished Iron Warrior and I find myself spitting all manner of venom over it, in the best possible way, of course.

But.....ouch! That stung quite a bit. Rarely have I wanted a group of characters to completely fail and want them squished into paste like I do with Honsou and his Iron Warriors. I hate them all so so much.

And what they did at the end....now that was just cruel.

But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Iron Warrior, and I finally have a hardback novel that's penned by you, and it makes me hunger for Courage and Honour when it comes out in a couple of months time. And super kudos on the black box Last Restore too....I did squeal in delight over that one!

And lastly, congratulations on all you accolades, I feel they're well deserved and I feel very proud that BL and your good self are getting propelled into the limelight! Plus I hope that you, Anita and Evan are doing fine and that you're getting more sleep than before.

Keep up the great work.
